Riboflex – Smart hydraulic engineering technology for mining and removal of sediments and wet sands.

FKM is starting a new business unit based on the technical foundations FKM has built up in the rotational molding of polyurethane in the roller sector in the course of many years under the name of “Dredging & Mining”. FKM has developed hose segments made of PU in exchange with customers and subject to constant review of the practical experience. They have turned out to be a patentable worldwide novelty (EP322 5373 and US Patent 10661979). The production is located in Germany, later to move to the USA as well.

Our Riboflex hoses offer three essential advantages by comparison to the usual rubber hose elements (also see download “Dimensional and material data”):

• Higher resistance of the wear layer to abrasion and erosion
  
• Higher resistance to environmental influences such as light irradiation, ozone, or mussel growth
• No plasticizers or low-molecular oils that may leak are used for flexibilization.

The operator experiences these advantages in the form of a longer service life with lower waste. Environmental pollution is also reduced by decreasing overall waste quantities as well as less pollution in operation from particles coming free of the wear layer and the outer skin or due to emission of plasticizers.
